Slowly Fading Colors

Yesterday evening, Genox released his new EP by the name "Slowly Fading Colors". The EP includes 5 new tracks:
Aquarius
Proto Z
Trafficlights
Dling Dling
Resurrected Piano

Having listened to these 5 tracks over and over and over again, I believe I can say that this EP is quite a step forward for this artist, and a truly enjoyable one to listen to. The EP includes some nice surprises for the old fans, and also has a lot to offer to a wider range of new listeners. The 5 tracks are an amazing display of the artist's ability to smoothly flow through different genres and mix elements from different styles to create something very new, and yet containing the familiar Genox atmosphere. A very special collection of colors, which in turn brings me to the title of the EP.
With all due respect to the artist's truly interesting reasoning for choosing the title "Slowly Fading Colors", I can't help mentioning that the EP brings an image of a "Box of Crayons" to my mind a lot more than fading colors. To elaborate, I basically see the EP as a collection of colors, placed side by side in a so well selected order, that causes each color to stand out in their own turn.
All that being said, I believe it's time for you to listen to the EP, and develop your own opinion! =) So, check out Genox's blog post to download the EP.
Update: Just in case you can't load Genox's blog, you can download the EP directly from here.

Thank you for this detailed review. Of course, the title does provocate subjective views, as it is one very subjective view of myself, basically. The fading-color-aspect derived from the downwards-progression the whole EP consists of. The color of each tracks vary greatly, tho, the fading takes place on the level of diversity of theme, patterns and progression, the rather abstract/technical dimension of music, I guess.

This is actually very interesting and something whcih I encounter a lot: There are a lot of things depending on interpretation, the artists mostly does the interpretation a little bit different than the viewer/listener - during the production of something visual or acoustic, interpretation plays not a very big role (for me personally), since the process of creating something isn't based on concepts (it's different for all the concept GFX of course) but on the "flow of things happening when they happen". And even the concept GFX is 90% based on the flow, at least in my case.

*hee hee* But at the end of the day, this is what makes art interesting, different interpretations each minds create based on different experience, perspective, ideas, views ... colors. Endless possibilities..

Ok I sorta lost the topic meanwhile, I guess. =) Thank you for reviewing, thank you for the compliments. I enjoy doing what I do even more if there is someone enjoying the results. And most important: Thank you for providing me with the necessary inspiration for going a little bit further each time...

Hmmm interesting, finally there's a track for me. =)
Resurrected Piano is "IT". Nicely done.

I see colors. Lots of them. I don't see fading.

Thank you both.

Dling Dling sounds somewhat odd to me. Perhaps it's not my cup of tea. The rest of them are awesome though.

This is what I call diversity. Putting this EP together with everything else the musician has produced, this one has a very different feeling to it.
