SGU Fail...
Late last night I watched the latest episode of Stargate Universe, as I didn't want to wait any longer to find out about the "object" that was coming towards them. I figured things may finally get more interesting. At the end of the episode I was cursing myself for not having spent that time to watch something that I would have actually enjoyed instead, specially since I have very little time these days.... Don't get me wrong, the whole "other ship with aliens on board" thing was pretty interesting, but I'm beginning to feel that the series' main characters are SOOO annoying, that they're over-shadowing any interesting events in the plot. I'm sorry to say, but not a single one of them seem to be capable of doing anything other than being horribly annoying all the time. As much as it pains me to say, SGU has turned into a soap opera featuring a large group of complete idiots! Their military leader is a brainless arrogant dictator. Their supposed "brains" guy is an idiotic self centered arrogant b*****d. The entire series is the struggle of these 2, and the rest of the characters are so interesting and important that they could as well cease to exist. Stargate used to be about a group of people each of whom where important in their own way. Each evolving to something better during the series, while dealing with interesting SCI-FI challenges [not soap opera ones!]. I understand that SGU is supposed to be "different", but so far this difference has been nothing but a severe failure. And by the way, I'm not the only one to say that. Every serious sci-fi fan that I've talked to so far, says the same thing. If things keep going this way, I will quite possibly stop watching SGU altogether. =( Labels: Entertainment, Horrible, Sci-Fi, Stargate, TV

Umm... no. Yeah. I have to start by saying NOOO. Big NOOOO. God, just what are these folks doing? We're so used to Stargate being this larger than life complex intriguing epic plots, and that's what we like about it! Now of course there needs to be evolution, there needs to be change... but then there's "change" and there's "mess up". And so far, SGU has been the ladder. None of my big time Stargate fan friends seem to like this one at all up to now. So far, SGU has only been a bunch of extremely shallow people doing extremely useless things. All the time. What bothers me even more, is that the general plot and the big picture is in fact VERY interesting. People who are not supposed to be doing this, further from home than any human has every been... this could be SOO full of events. But it's NOT! And I think it's mainly due to how un-interesting the characters are. So far, I only find 3 of the main character interesting [sometimes!]: - Dr. Rush - Cause he uses his brain - Eli Wallace - Cause he sometimes uses his brain - Camiile Wray - Cause she started drawing the boat As for the rest of them, I find them completely and utterly vain. So that's all I have to say, so far it's been a big disappointment. The 9th episode is the last one I've seen so far, and now they've left my favorite character, Dr. Rush, on the surface of some planet and left him there to die.... but he's alive, and that may go to interesting places. It would be "nice" to see my favorite character turning into the big anti-hero....we'll just have to wait and see. I really hope things start picking up.... So last weekend, finally after months of waiting, I watched the 2 hour premiere of Stargate Universe. I’ve been playing in my head a bit with what I saw… I guess it’s too early to actually have an opinion about the series… but I can say that so far, I totally love the plot, and almost totally hate the characters! =P Dr. Rush is basically the only character that I actually like so far. But I guess, on the other hand, it’s going to be quite interesting to watch a bunch of people this time around who weren’t actually meant for this, are not necessarily the best of the best, and mostly are just simply not supposed to be there. I suppose there’s going to be some very interesting character development going on for the crew in the new series. Well, looking impatiently forwards to this weekend for the 2nd episode….
